Sunshine Coast Bullion is proud to present the 2010 1oz Britannia Gold Coin from The Royal Mint (UK).
Britannia is the female representation of Britain and has been the modern face of bullion since 1987. Recognised and trusted around the world, the bullion Britannia coin is sought after by investors and institutions alike. The history of this icon begins with her appearance on the coins of Hadrian, around AD 119, as the symbol of a new province and people. Britannia was revived for the coinage of Charles II in 1672 and has appeared on the coins of every monarch since. When Britannia coins were added to our bullion portfolio in 1987, Philip Nathan created a classical interpretation of the icon. He presented Britannia with a strong maritime influence, standing above the waves with a trident, shield and olive branch in hand – instantly recognisable in an international market as the modern face of British bullion and a symbol of national spirit. The iconic design has evolved over time and now includes four new advanced security features, making it the most visually secure coin in the world.
